To all water customers served by The City of Pittsburg water system.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is strongly encouraging systems statewide to implement their drought contingency plans.
Due to the continued Drought situation the City of Pittsburg will be activating State 1 of its Drought Contingency Plan effective immediately.
Stage 1 target is to achieve a voluntary 5% reduction in total water use.
In order to help manage a limited water supply and/or reduce water demand, the City will implement the following measures:
Reduce or discontinue flushing of water mains;
Discontinue fire hydrant flushing and testing;
Implement measures to return any system component to full production capability;
Repair all existing main breaks;
Voluntary water use restrictions for reducing demand are as follows;

b) All operations of the City of Pittsburg shall adhere to water use restrictions prescribed for Stage 2 of the plan.
c) Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.
