Located in the piney and hardwood forests of Northeast Texas, Pittsburg is an outstanding  place to live, work, start a new business, or a weekend getaway vacation. If you have a passion for the outdoors, Pittsburg is the place.   Close to two state parks and five large lakes with an abundance of water sports, Pittsburg can appeal to the whole family.  If you prefer historic buildings and homes, antique shopping, and museums: Pittsburg has these things and more. Pittsburg takes you back to slower paced, gentler times when everyone was friendly and helpful.

Designated as an historic Main Street City in 1986 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, Pittsburg's charm is evident in its lovely shops and Prayer Tower.  The Prayer Tower features Paccard bells from France that chime the hour with soft melodies that waft through town. Shop the many stores in the downtown historic district featuring antiques, clothing, shoes, unique gifts, crafts, and try our famous Pittsburg hot links. Visit the commercial district located on US Highway 271 with a variety of retails, restaurants, and businesses. Pittsburg is home to two beautiful wineries that feature full restaurants and award winning wines. If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Pittsburg don’t miss our lovely bed and breakfasts and hotels. Spring through summer our Orchards are full of our famous Peaches, blueberries, and strawberries. Home of two award winning museums: The Historic Railroad Depot features Pittsburg’s rich history and a replica of the famous Ezekiel Airship, and the Farmstead Museum shows what life was like back in the day.
