Garbage needs to be set out by 7:00 A.M. to avoid being missed.
Sanitation Solutions will pick up 5-7 bags each day.
ALL garbage must me bagged, even if you provide your own garbage can.
Loose garbage in a can will not be emptied

• Remodeling debri
• Appliance that contain freon
• Loose Trash

The rate for hand collected residences is $16.86 per month.
For commercial rates please contact City Hall as those fees may vary depending on the type of container needed.
City customers will get one (1) free garbage pick-up per calendar year for items requiring special handling or pick-up including tree limbs and brush.
Demolition materials and construction debris shall be picked-up at a fee of $50.00 for each 6 cubic yard load.
Tree limbs must be picked up separately from other kinds of trash.
The minimum fee for each pick-up shall be $50.00. All garbage must be bagged, even if it is placed in trash cans.

There is no charge for storm related limb pick-up.
ARTICLE 13.04 SOLID WASTE

(a) Collection schedule. The city shall contract for daily collections for the removal of garbage and trash from all premises in the city except on Sunday and legal holidays. In the residential districts, garbage and trash collection shall be twice per week. The contractor will not start collection prior to 7:00 a.m. or continue after 6:00 p.m. on the same day. Collection of commercial refuse will take place as per individual agreement. (Ordinance 798-15 adopted 4/13/15)
(b) Franchise required. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to establish and maintain a regular refuse collection route in the city prior to obtaining a franchise from the city.
(c) Bulky waste. The contractor shall provide for the special collection of bulky waste from residential and commercial premises according to individual agreements.
(d) Items requiring special handling. After receiving notification that an item placed for collection cannot be handled by the regular collection crews, the person, firm, or corporation shall make arrangements for removal and dispose of such items at their own expense.

(a) It shall be required of every person, firm, or corporation with an active water meter or owning, managing, operating, leasing, or renting any premises where trash or garbage accumulates that has been designated by the city as a hand-collected customer to provide plastic refuse bags having a minimum thickness of two (2) millimeters and manufactured for the purpose of garbage disposal as receptacles for collection of their garbage or trash. Such plastic bags shall be securely tied shut, and either:
- Placed freestanding at the street-side edge of the hand-collected customer's premises on collection day; or
- Placed in a trashcan or other appropriate trash receptacle, with such trashcan or other appropriate trash receptacle to be placed and located at the street-side edge of the hand-collected customer's premises on collection day only.
The city may require separate pickup for large quantities of bags of leaves, pine straw, or grass clippings; however, no additional charge over the monthly service fee shall be assessed for residential customers.
(b) Plastic refuse bags as specified by this section may be obtained at city hall by residents. Cost will be established by the city manager based on the purchase price, plus transportation, sales tax, and 10% or less handling charge.
(c) Brush and tree limbs, cut and tied in bundles not to exceed three (3) feet in length, shall be placed at the street-side edge of the hand-collected customer's premises on their designated collection day.

It shall be required of every person, firm, or corporation with an active water meter owning, managing, operating, leasing, or renting any premises where garbage or trash accumulates to use commercial container service in lieu of hand-collection in the event the premises shall generate in excess of 1-1/2 cubic yards of solid waste weekly. In the event that space is not available for commercial container service, then hand-collection shall be allowed for the premises. Brush and tree limbs shall not be placed in containers, but shall be put out for collection after being tied in bundles that do not exceed three (3) feet in length. (1999 Code, sec. 11.1203)
